Running a small homestead with multiple animals is a lot to manage. Goats that wander, chickens that scatter, dogs that need their own space - keeping everything secure without a solid fencing setup is a constant headache. That's exactly what this customer was dealing with, and we were glad to help sort it out.
We handled two separate areas on this property. Out front, we put up a chain link fence to give the dogs a safe, contained yard. Clean lines, solid posts, proper gate hardware. Out back is where things got more involved - we built out multiple kennels to separate and contain the goats, chickens, and ducks. Each enclosure is built with the same galvanized chain link we use on all our jobs, so it's going to hold up through whatever Montana weather throws at it.
What we love about chain link for farm use is how practical it is. It's strong enough to keep animals in and predators out, but open enough that you can see everything going on inside each enclosure at a glance. No guessing whether the animals are okay. No surprises. And with proper gate latches on each section, managing the daily routine of feeding and checking in becomes a whole lot easier.
This customer has been with us for a while, and that's something we don't take for granted. Whether it's a first-time call or a returning customer adding onto an existing setup, we approach every job the same way - figure out what the property actually needs, build it right, and make sure it lasts. A well-planned fencing layout like this one makes the whole homestead function better from day one.
